I saw "the upkeep/running" of the house translated as "la tenue."  To me, l'entretien has a physical connotation --  the cleaning, repairing, replacing things -- and I would choose that.  Is "la tenue" used equally?  Maybe it has a less physical connotation?

I think "en bonne tenue" means "in good order" ,implying it has been   subjected to   a "bon entretien"

I don't think I would use "tenue"  the same way as "entretien".
