"c'est pour ça que..." versus "c'est pourquoi..."
I've just heard the former used twice whereas I would've said the latter. Is the latter not used or perhaps merely less dignified?

To my mind "c'est pour ça que" seems to focus more on a particular (area of) cause and is is more demonstrative.
Maybe you could say it is the same as "c'est pourquoi..." but with an emphasis on the cause rather than the effect.
