Hi, could someone please translate this?: I have never tried drugs or alcohol, but my friend has.

I am okay with the first bit, but not sure what to write for 'my friend has'.

Any help would be appreciated :)

Thanks

'my friend has'. mais mon ami(e) l'a fait

Moi, je n'ai jamais essayé ni la drogue ni l'alcool mais mon ami(e) l'a fait.

Thank you so much :)

In general in French, when "has", "does", "will" etc are just 'standing in for' another verb, then a common solution in French is to use "non" or "si" as appropriate. So you can say:

Je n'ai jamais essayé de drogues ou d'alcool, mais mon ami si.

Similarly, to say "I know Peter, but she doesn't":

Moi je connais Peter, mais elle non.

Or "I know Peter, and she does too":

Je connais Peter, et elle aussi.
