i recently saw "date butoir".  the dictionary says "délai" or "date limite."

the 3 are used with slightly differences. And even... the 4 are used. "dealine" is heard in France sometimes, in work's meetings.

"date butoir" = "date limite" = deadline.   The answer is a schedule date.

délai is more the period we have to do something. the answer will be "3 months"
