Hello, everyone!

I'm writing a paper on a certain director and would like to include a quote from one of his films, which is in French. There isn't a script available, so I can only transcribe the audio of the monologue. However, my knowledge of French isn't good enough (I get some of it, but not all), so I'm looking for someone fluent in French who would be willing to help me out.

If there is such a person, please contact me through PM.

Hopefully I'm not breaking any rules of the forum. If so, please apprise.

Hi Iskra,

There's nothing wrong with asking for help and I'm sure various of our community will be very happy to help you. But if you are asking people for free help, it is considered polite to let the whole community benefit rather than doing it "secretly". Post your audio files and let people give you the transcription here so that other people can also learn from it!

Hello Neil!

Yes, I must agree it is in a way impolite doing it "secretly", and also am sorry for not mentioning the reason for it, I did intend to, but by the time I started writing the post, it had completely slipped my mind. The problem is this: the film was released this year (only recently), so the audio was recorded at a film festival screening, which by itself is not a problem, but I think publishing it publicly would be considered copyright infringement. I'm not sure, though, since it's only a few minutes, and not the entire work. So I'll have to look it up and see if I may publish it here.

Thanks nevertheless!
