 How would you translate "life-like" in french

Apparently "une fidèle ressemblance" can be used for a portrait.

I don't think that is quite what you meant though.

I can also find "réaliste" and "portrait parlant"

I don't know if there is a French adjective that could be used as an exact equivalent for  "life-like".

The New College French & English Dictionary defines 'life-like' as the adjectives vivant and ressamblant. The phrase 'taken from life' is listed as pris sur le vif.  

Well, I think it obviously depends on the context. Here is what I found i.e ajectives closed in meaning when talking about a sound 

Authentique, Un Rendu vivant, Plus Vrai que nature. Réaliste
