What is the English translation for the flower "Rosier" ?
Tags:
I am not really familiar with the usages but from a little research in Google Images It seems to mean "Rose bush" .
So it isn't the flower (the Rose) -but the plant or shrub itself.
And ,in French, does "Fleur" always refer to the actual flower or can it correctly be used to describe the plant itself (including the flower)?
Thanks George
Trees that have some practical use -- i.e. that bear edible things like fruit -- almost invariably have that -ier ending. Amandier, pommier, poirier....
The exceptions are pêcher, oranger, papayer.
Thanks Stu
