Hi,

I'm a bit confused with this text and I was wondering if anyone could help me?

"Ne la voyant pas revenir au bout de dix minutes le professeur s'est inquiété et a retrouvé son

élève évanouie dans les toilette. Prise d'un malaise en voyant son amie, la deuxieme lycéene est à son tour tombée  dans un coma éthylique."

Am I to understand that the second student fell into a coma merely from seeing her friend in the bathroom throwing up? That makes no sense at all, and sounds outright silly- someone falling into a coma from seeing someone sick. I was wondering if someone could clarify this or not. Or if I'm wrong?

Oh sorry the part before it was:

(excuse the lack of accents)

Lors de leur premiere heure de cours a 9h, l'une des deux victimes s'est sentie mal et est allee aux toilette

I find it especially strange because a "coma éthylique" is an alcohol-induced coma!

If I had to guess without more context, I'd say that the second student was already extremely drunk, and the minor shock she got from seeing her sick friend was enough to send her into a coma. But it's still weird...

thanks for the clarification! I thought I was reading it wrong!!! But yes the article was about two girls who binge drinked.

...I'll make no comment about their IQ. -_-

Where did you read that? I'm curious now.  ^_^'

just in a little article about binge drinking my teacher gave me- the underaged girls had about 2g of alcohol in their blood! and then proceeded to go to school as if it was normal- but then they fainted/
