Yep, "nous sommes lundi (aujourd'hui)" is perfectly correct.

But a closer translation of "today is Monday" would be aujourd'hui, c'est lundi.
Thanks Frank
2.Nous sommes lundi. This is not acceptable to you. Please tell me.

Aujourd'hui, c'est lundi.

Aujourd'hui est lundi. Is this wrong.
Hello friend,

"Nous sommes lundi" is perfectly acceptable.

"Aujourd'hui c'est lundi" is another way to say exactly the same thing, but it's just closer to the original English sentence.

But "Aujourd'hui est lundi" is wrong. It's just a subtle difference between French and English.
In France when you just want to say today is Monday.

1.Nous sommes lundi

2. Aujourd'hui c'est lundi

I just want to know your instinctive reaction. Do you use the first one the second one?
Both are really equivalent.

Instinctively, I'd pick #2 while telling a story ("Aujourd'hui c'est lundi et je n'ai pas encore fini mon travail qui était à finir pour la semaine derniière"). But I'd pick #1 if someone just asked me for the date (or as a variant of #1: "On est lundi").
