Vous êtes non seulement beau mais a aussi un beau nom.
À mon humble avis Lena est un beau nom.
Please correct my French sentences.

You are not only beautiful but also have a beautiful name.
For me Lena is a beautiful name.

My old dictionary gives the following alternatives for the English words ' not only ... but also
Non seulement …. mais encore

Non seulement …. mais aussi

There's only one mistake (underlined):

Vous êtes non seulement beau mais a aussi un beau nom.

Go fix it :)
"non seulement... mais encore" is not very common and can only apply to a limit set of situations. You can safely forget it.

"non seulement... mais aussi" is way more common and more versatile.

An alternative which is more common in an informal context is "non seulement... mais en plus".
Thanks Frank

Vous êtes non seulement beau mais aussi un beau nom.

À mon humble avis Lena est un beau nom.
So the above is fine.
Please tell me.
I just looked at my old dictionary. It seems 'a' is not necessary.
It is necessary.
Vous êtes non seulement beau mais à aussi un beau nom.
Is it correct now?
C'est un ami à Frank.
He is a friend of Frank.

C'est à 5 kilomètres/minutes .
It's 5 kilometers/minutes away.
Noppe, you need a verb:

Vous êtes non seulement beau mais avez aussi un beau nom

or

Non seulement vous êtes beau mais en plus (vous) avez un joli nom
So A woman can be beau not just belle?? Does this mean beautiful...
beau I thought was handsome, masculine. Belle I thought meant beautiful, feminine. I do know that you say, Une belle femme mais, un bel homme.
So they mean different things....? Hi Frank!!
Pam
Hi Pam,

Oh no, a woman can only be "belle" unless it's really ambiguous (who said Lady Gaga out there?).

But I assumed that Crack's first and second sentences were unrelated.
Thanks Frank
They are related.
This is dating.
Please correct it again if you think that I have made a mistake.

Lena is a beautiful girl.
Lena est une belle fille.
It should be Vous êtes non seulement belle mais avez aussi un beau nom
then.

In order to avoid the belle/beau redundancy, feel free to replace one of them by jolie/joli.
