Nice gym

I met some people from Maghreb at the gym today.
I practiced my rotten French with them.
They were a couple. They could speak good English too.

I told them them the following:

This is a nice gym.
I asked them to translate into French.

Cet une gym agréable.
OR
Cet une agréable. gym.

They said both of the above are fine.
I don't think so.
Please tell me.

They said the word 'une salle' is better than 'une gym'.

I am not sure.

The dictionary uses the word 'salle de masculation'.

Institution told me it should be 'cet une bel gym'. [ THIS IS RUBBISH.]

Recently they refurbished the gym. It looks very attractive now.

Well, both aren't :)

C'est une gym agréable (which sounds the same as "Cet une gym agréable", though) would be okay but it refers to a specific exercise or a gym style, not to the place itself.

Une salle (de gym, de musculation, d'entrainement...) is indeed the way to talk about the training center.

Btw, "musculation" is often shortened as "muscu".
