but is used as some sort of exclamation also;

the context is a meal at which two grown men who are old friends and are both in hiding, and are using false names, and when one man calls the other by his real name, and he responds to it, that man's ten year old son says to him:

"Duval, voyons papa, nous sommes Duval."
