What is the special meaning of the word 'ayant' ?

Could you tell me more about the word 'ayant'?
It seems there are special meanings.


Stationnement interdit, sauf aux ayants droit.
I don't know the meaning of the above sentence.

ayant means "having". look under avoir in Neil's dictionary.

Oh it also means parking without permit isn't permitted or allowed
interdit means forbidden
having a bad temperament or personality ( I think ) is the second phrase
I think it says no parking permit holders only
"ayant" is the present participle of the verb "avoir". ---> having

The "ayants droit" are "the people who have the right" to do something (legally speaking).
