You have a choice between …
I got the above sentences from a website.

I know I have translated the first sentence correctly. I am unable to grasp the meaning of the other two. So help me, please.

In English, usually, the word between has to do with two or more people or things.
As I have a smattering of French, I can't perceive the two items/events in the third sentence.

The choice between beautiful girls and ordinary girls.
The choice between the French language and the German language.
