Use of historic masculin plural "bels"
I want to use this in the following context....Les Bels Anges as the name of a village in a short story. I know that the correct grammar is les beaux anges or les anges beaux. Can I use this archaic form. I have seen this when in France but I can't remember where. Could someone help me out.

Well, you have to say "un/le bel ange" but "les bels anges" it's very strange. You should say "les beaux anges".
If really necessary, you can use "bels anges" for a name of a village but I don't thing "les bels anges" because the plural is "des beaux anges".

Well it was used in French language a long time ago but this form isn't used anymore in modern French. But of course you can use it as the name of a village if you want.

Thank you Isabelle. I know it's an archaic form and may use it as Bels Anges without the Les. The story is with my agent and I have time to make a final decision. I remember seeing an old auberge in the Loire area called Aux Plus Bels Anges but that was a long time ago and I couldn't track it down. Probably it closed. Thank you for replying
