I'm looking for help translating the phrase "une interpretation analogue."
It has been used to describe the production process of an early French film:
En juin 1938 et avec une interpretation analogue (Jean Tissier y figurant cependant) le film fut commence par Jacques de Barnocellismais repidement interrompu pour des raisons financieres.
What I've come up with is:
In June 1938, and with an analogous interpretation (starring Jean Tissier, however) the film was begun by Jacques de Baroncelli but was soon interrupted for financial reasons.
But I have no idea what an "analogous interpretation" might mean?
Any thoughts.

"analogue" basically means "similar", "comparable".
So they're talking about a "similar interpretation/performance". ("interprétation" could refer to an actor's performance or to the screenwriter's interpretation of the story -- presumably the context will help decide this.)

Thank you. When they resumed filming, a new director was at the helm, and a different actor took the starring role. Perhaps the writer means that there wasn't much difference in terms of tone, style, and performance between the original interrupted film and the final product.
