Hi,
I have a french role play coming up that requires one to convince a parent to allow them to do something. I was wondering if anyone could help me with expressions or sentences expressing affection or exasperation. For example, in english we have the word "But mum!" which would just be an incomplete sentence fragment.... Is there an equivalent? Would it even be as simple as "mais maman"
Is: "that's not fair, why can't i go?" (with regard to a vacation) roughly translated to:
ca c'est pas juste! je ne comprend pas pourquoi tu m'interdis d'y aller!
thanks!

"Mais maman!" is fine.
Your second sentence is also perfectly correct, although you could also say more literally "C'est pas juste, pourquoi est-ce que je ne peux pas y aller?" or e.g. "...comment ça que je peux pas y aller?".
I might suggest also Ecoute, mama!! (with a roll of the eyes.) This of course means Listen, Ma! but isn't necessarily followed by anything specific to listen to.
