Studying in France?

Hello all, 

I am Pamela from Porgutal and I have just finished high school, many of friends and family are suggesting me to continue my studies in France because like they say France offers very prestigious education.. 

I have some questions and hope anyone can share experiences with me if he/she is studying currently in France.

Why to choose France over other countries in Europe?

What about accommodation? 

What is cost living there? ( In any other city except Paris when is really not cheap)
