Hi! So, I'm in the process of writing a story - a fanfiction, to be precise. (That is, a story based on another work. In this case, that's Choice of Broadsides, which can be read online.) In it, one of the characters is French. I'd really like to have an exchange between her and another character in French, but the problem is that I don't speak a word of it! I could just avoid it, but I really would like to include it for a couple of reasons - it seems more realistic, it seems more interesting, I love hearing other languages, and let's face it: French is just awesome. n.n

So, if someone wouldn't mind translating these sentences for me, I'd be really grateful! :)

"My beloved Mary, how is your French coming along?"

"I have not had many opportunities to practice of late, my love..."

That's all! :) Thank you in advance for reading my question!

A translation in french could be :

" Ma chère marie, comment avance votre français ? "

" Je n'ai pas eu beaucoup l'occasion de m'y entraîner ces derniers temps, mon amour "

" Mon amour " works if it's about a woman talking to her husband.
