I have a test tom and this is a review sheet for it. I don't have the answers to the review sheet so I thought maybe I could confirm my answers with you? If they're wrong, can you tell me the correct answer, please?

If you don't want to help me that's fine, but there's no need to be rude.
you're supposed to use prnoms/ adjectis/ adverbs interrogatifs like quel, combien, d'ou, quand, quoi, qu'est-ce que/qui, etc.
They're fill ins and I put what I think the answer is next to the sentence

1.De _____ s'agit-il dans cette piece? (quoi)
2. ________le Pere Noel t'a donne comme cadeaux? (qu'est-ce que)
3. ____ de ces enfants est le plus age? (Quels)
4.______ une fourni? C'est un petit insecte. (qu'est ce qu')
5.Pour________ de ses clients le marchand fait-il des prix plus interessants? (combien)
6.________ est l'effet des rayons du soleil sur la peau? (que)
7._____ vous emmenez avec vous? La soeur de Gerard. (qu'est-ce qui)
8._______ fait ce bruit epouvantable? Ca doit etre un avion a reaction. (que)
9.______ veut dire ce mot? (qui)
10. _____ est le sens de ce mot? (quel)
11.Chez _______ a-t-il laisse toutes ses affaires? (qui)

Hi Karen -- some pointers for you:

In (3), you use quel(le) when it's followed directly by the noun. In a case like this where you're saying "Which of...", use "lequel" etc.

In (6) you can't have "que" directly followed by "est". Basically, you want to say "what/which" when it is the subject of the sentence: there are a couple of possibilities...

In (7), there are a couple of problems here. If the idea was "What...", then you would need the French for "what" as the OBJECT of the question. Here you've got "what" if it was the SUBJECT. But... the answer is a person, so you need the French for "who" when it-s the subject of a question.

In (8), your question as it stands means "What does this terrible noise do?" -- i.e. "what" is the object. What is intended is for "what" to be the subject.

(9) The intended meaning is "what does this word mean?", so you can't use a word for "who".

Hope that helps!
