La vie est douce.
what is the difference between that and " La vie est doux" ?
thanks
Hi Jenna.

It all depends on the gender of the noun.

Take a look at the article you used before "vie" : la. This is because vie is feminine.
Adjectives are supposed to match nouns they refer to. It's why doux has to be douce when it refers to a feminine, singular noun.

Counterpose le nounours est doux/ with la vie est douce, les chats sont doux and les roses sont douces and notice how the same adjective is mutating according to the related noun.
Just to mention there's a section on French adjectives in the grammar section of the web site.
