You can say : Cher / Chère . It's a bit old fashion.

What's the modern way, Erwan? No salutation at all?

In a (very) not formal letter or on a postcard, it can begin with :

- the first name

- "Bonjour ..." + first name or "Bonjour la famille"

- "Salut ..."

Thanks Erwan. The letter is sent,I went with 'Cher'.I like old fashioned and it was semi formal.

Again,thanks for your help.

Grant

Saying nothing is a bit too post, post modern for me Stu.Went with 'Cher'.

Grant
