I understand what the sentence says, however... I do not understand the structure

ce n'était pas comme si tu faisais tant de fautes que ça

could someone explain to me where I would/should position ça? It's really only the position of ça that I don't fully understand...

The word ça is already in the right position. The construction tant de ... que ... means "as many ... as ...". And in this case, (pas) tant de ... que ça means literally "(not) as many ... as all that", i.e. "(not) so many ...".

ce n'était pas comme si tu faisais tant de fautes que ça

What does it mean in English?

In English, something like "It's not like you were making that many mistakes".
