Thanks for the reply....To me, une veranda can also be unscreened. Can you think of a specific expression for "screened in"?

As usual context matters a lot but in a general context you can find vérandas avec ou sans volets roulants

maybe you could also speak of "une extension" which remains vague about the specific architecture.
