Accents
How do I enter French accents when looking up words in the French-English dictionary? I cannot use Alt+4 digit numeric as I do not have a numeric keypad. Also I lose the accents if I paste a word with accents from Word. Thanks in advance.

For the purpose of looking up words, you can actually just leave off the accents!
Otherwise, see this page I put together a while ago on typing accents.
Incidentally, if you do want to use the ALT code method, you may find that your laptop does have some way of mimicking numeric keypad keys (e.g. pressing the right ALT button in combination with certain letter keys).
