For my study of German, I have used some mini books published by Langenscheidt.  They are about 25 pages long, and many of them come "mit Mini-CD".    They have a series for native students, and another series for foreign learners, and both series have 3 levels.

I am just starting out in French, but I'd like to know if people can recommend similar material in French.  I like to collect a few items to motivate me to get to the level I need to read them.  For the beginning level, I have the three Berlitz kids books, and also the 4 Max et Matilde books published by Ladybird.  But I'm thinking of books made by French publishers.

I already have the audio of Le Petit Prince, which is obviously a good start in many languages.  I'd welcome suggestion from the very basic to intermediate learning material.  The only stipulation is that I'd rather have readings with audio, because then I can use the audio in my car.

Thank you for any suggestions!

A french actress, Marlène Jobert, has made some audio-books for children. She read tales with classical music in background.

My children really like them, but I don't know if they are usefull to learn French.
