Historical language question "-il", "-ille" or "-ill-"
-il: Soleil (sun)?
-ille: Briller (to shine)?
-ill-: Papillon (butterfly)?
Why they are always pronounced as [j]? I think perhaps the Latin Alphabet "l" had special phonetic distinctions in the past.
