Share 'French Homework Help- Letter writing'

Hi!   I've been asked to write a letter for my high school French homework, thanking our grandmother for her birthday present and telling her how we spent our birthday. I've had a few problems with phrasing some of the expressions so a little help would be great!   Here's what I've got so far:   Chère Grand-maman, Merci pour le collier d’or tu as envoyé  pour mon anniversaire.
