a quest abt l'article defini

I have been taught that when talking about the cinema along with certain other structures lik , hotels, theatres, museums - l'article defini est s'emploie, mais pourqoui pas ici?
Il fait .................... cinéma, il est acteur.
I found this random exercise on the internet, where the correct anwer is "un" insstead of "le".
Can someone please help!

The only thing that I can think of is that this is an expression:
Faire tout un cinéma can mean "to make a fuss" That being the case, I don't understand why they would then say, "He is an actor" because I don't think that this has a literal meaning. It could still work, though.
