La formation du peuple acadien debute plus d'un siecle avant l'establissement des premiers colons francais dans l'ile Saint-Jean, qui s'appelle aujourd'hui I'lle-du-Prince Edouard.

The formation/development of the Acadian people starts more than a century before the first French colonists settled in the Island of Saint Jean, known today as Prince Edward Island.
